If you are a new or an experienced runner the most important bit of your kit is your shoes. You will need comfortable tops and bottoms, a lightweight waterproof top and for the women the other most important piece of kit is a decent sports bra.
All these can be found reasonably cheap and easily available from sports stores and online (see below for some suggestions).
Shoes are the most important part of your kit. Having the wrong shoes can cause problems and lead to injuries. General sports shoes are ok to get started with, but as you progress you will find that you need a specialist running shoes.
A helpful giude is available at sportsshoes.com where a short video explains different type of feet. You can also visit a professional running shop for more advice and an assessment or speak to other runners for recommendations.
During the darker nights in winter we insist that all our runners wear some form of high visibility top or clothing with reflective strips to training sessions. This is for your safety, this both enables you to be seen and helps you see others you are running with.
